Internships and Volunteering
WVCA offers internships for students majoring in but not limited to education, business, English, communications, marketing, speech/language pathology, occupational therapy and physical therapy.
While completing an internship at WVCA, interns will gain valuable hands on work experience while helping young children. If this is the experience you are looking for – WVCA is the place for you
Interns
Interns at WVCA will be able to:
- Gain and share work experience
- Explore career possibilities
- Develop and share professional skills
- Improve communication and interpersonal skills
- Receive personal satisfaction by helping developmentally delayed children
The following majors are encouraged to apply:
Education: Students will work with dedicated preschool teachers who make learning fun and stimulating.
English, communication, marketing, business or similar majors: Students from these majors will receive valuable experience in the field of fundraising, grant research/writing, event planning, and document design and much more.
Speech/language pathology, occupational or physical therapy: Students will have the opportunity to work with experienced therapists who are helping children overcome obstacles.
Requirements
All interns must:
Have completed at least two semesters of college education
Be a current undergraduate or graduate students attending a college or university, or have just graduated in the same year of the internship.
Interns must submit a current resume. The intern’s college or university must have a written internship agreement with Wyoming Valley Children’s Association.
Volunteers
Volunteers can obtain valuable work experience while helping the children of Wyoming Valley Children Association.
Volunteer opportunities include: Helping with special events, landscaping and grounds work, lunch and recess duty, teacher/therapist projects/ activities.
