Barbershoppers make donation to WVCA

The Wilkes-Barre Barbershop Harmony Society recently presented a check in the amount of $500 to Wyoming Valley Children’s Association as part of the chapter’s community service projects.
An upcoming Chorus Summer Concert is planned for 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 21 at the Irem Temple Country Club in Dallas. The Harmony Society meets Mondays at 7 p.m. at Wesley Village in Pittston.

Wyoming Valley West Student Council Supports WVCA

Wyoming Valley West High School Student Council recently assisted the Wyoming Valley Children’s Association with its annual walk-a-thon. A donation day was held at the high school and $500 was raised and donated to the association. Student council vice-president Cody Swan was also a member of the planning committee. For their enthusiasm and support the Student Council was awarded the Walk-A-Thon Spirit Award for 2011. Horses ’4′ Hope Annual Open House June 4th

The Peaceful Valley Equestrian Center, Inc. will conduct its annual open house fundraiser Horses ‘4’ Hope from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 4 at the equestrian center on Route 2020, Center Moreland in Wyoming County. There will be pony rides, horse demonstrations, a horseshoe tournament, exhibits, children’s activities, a basket raffle, vendors and plenty of food. The proceeds from all sponsorships and basket raffle will benefit Wyoming Valley Children’s Association.
