Annual Appeal
Eighty six years ago, the Wilkes-Barre Rotary Club and a local orthopedic surgeon planted a seed which would grow into Wyoming Valley Children’s Association.
While the mission of our agency has not changed, WVCA has seen a tremendous amount of growth in the last nine decades. We are one of the best kept secrets in Northeastern Pennsylvania in respect to education and therapeutic services for young children with disabilities. Our staff, teachers and therapists are among the very best in the region.
Today, new challenges face those of us who value our fine organization. These challenges will impact the affordability of early childhood education for many of our students. Increased educational and therapeutic costs and the need to educate growing numbers of students is a theme that will likely continue for years to come.
Allison, former parent said it best. “Navigating the world of parenting a child with developmental delays can be a challenge–finding the support you need, people you can trust, people that will believe in your child, recognize the strengths and develop the weaknesses was the part made easiest for us. Living in Luzerne County the choice was clear-Wyoming Valley Children’s Association. WVCA is more than a school, they are family.”
Your gift will support the education and therapies of children ages birth to five, many of whom have developmental disabilities or who are at risk because of income, language and/or behavioral issues.

Preschool Education for children with developmental delays or who are at-risk because of income, behavior issues and language barriers.
Pediatric Rehabilitation Services (Therapeutic Services) for children with developmental disabilities such as:
- Down Syndrome
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Developmental Delay
- Speech & Language Delay
- Orthopedic & Neurological Conditions
